There was a street bustling with energy leading up to Dazaifu shrine. Dazaifu was supposedly a shrine where a once-presidential candidate was banished to by the ruling government. He was a poet and scholar. While he was in this place, he built Dazaifu shrine. Students come to Dazaifu to get good luck before big exams. When the poet died, his spirit haunted the place and brought bad luck, so the government in Tokyo sent offerings to the shrine, and the bad luck went away.
