Here is a picture of an underground shopping mall in Fukuoka. I forget the name of that particular subway stop... and I don't want to mess it up by taking a guess! The mall had a certain unified "look" and really hung together much better than the spattered signs and shops of Korea. Japan is very "pleasant" in those respects. On the other hand, Korea is more "visceral", and less restrained and suppressed. Japan actually reminded me of Switzerland.
